CUUPS of Fort Myers is happy to offer learning circles that are open to its members as well as individuals from the larger community. Please check our Events Calendar to see to see our scheduled dates and topics.
Also, we have members who are offering classes and instruction to the general public.
A list of current offerings is available below.
We have two tracks -- an introductory track called, "CUUPS 101" and a more advanced track called, "Earthways Shamanic Path." Anybody may attend any of these classes, but if they are new they may want to start with the "CUUPS 101" class.
January 20 & February 17, 2016 - CUUPS 101
What is Paganism? What is CUUPS? How does CUUPS fit into the Unitarian Universalist's Seven Principles? What does CUUPS do at this UU Church? Join Whale Maiden on January 20th and February 17th for this informative class. The topic will be the same both classes, but since it is interactive and based upon class questions, no two classes will be the same. (A March CUUPS 101 Class isn't yet scheduled.)
7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Room 4.
I am Whale Maiden. I am an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church. I am trained in Michael Harner’s Core Shamanism, and am a member of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. In Core Shamanism, people learn to achieve altered states accompanied by drumming, or through deep breathing exercises. In Shamanic Spiritual Coaching, I teach individuals how to meditate, and teach them how to go on deep meditations (shamanic journeys). I teach individuals how to locate and work with their power animal, and I can demonstrate other shamanic practices. Shamanic Spiritual Coaching is appropriate for people who need individual attention. Please send an email to whalemaiden at aol dot com to schedule your individual Shamanic Spiritual Coaching sessions.
In mid-September 2015, Whale Maiden will be teaching a course on the Techniques of Shamanic Meditation and Treks at a location to be determined. In addition to instruction in techniques of deep meditation and how to achieve altered states, participants will learn about Florida plants and animals and the basic skills needed to go on Shamanic Meditation Treks.
